FAQ

Q. Listly Image Downloader vs Third-Party Services

Listly Image Downloader uses image URLs easily extracted through Listly to download images in the same order they appear on the website, or to bulk download images with desired filenames.

⬆︎ For example, assume product images are displayed on a website in order as shown above.

(Order numbers were added to each image to help with understanding.)

Third Party Services:

Most image downloaders use the filenames specified by the website as-is.

These filenames are often composed of hard-to-understand numbers or letter combinations, and when sorted by name the image order becomes mixed up.

Listly Image Downloader:

Listly Image Downloader can set filenames based on an Excel file or assign numbers according to the input URL order.

This allows downloading neatly named files that are easy to match with your data.

Q. How should I prepare the 'Excel file' to upload to the image downloader?

1

Extract the webpage that contains the images you want to download with Listly.

You can extract web pages containing images via Listly and download them as an Excel file to easily prepare the URLs to download.

Through Listly, you can collect image URLs with just a few simple clicks.

2

Check the column position where the image URLs are located in the Excel file.

Check the URL : Look for data that appears as links in the Excel file. In the example file, column A contains the webpage address itself and column B contains the image URLs.

Since column layouts may differ by file, label or mark the column that includes Image URLs.

3

Check or create the column in the Excel file to use as the filename.

Mark the column to be used as the filename or edit and organize the necessary data. In the example, Brand name + item namewere combined to create column F as FILE NAMEa new column.

With Listly Image Downloader you can download image files in the order of the names you freely edited.

Note

Listly Image Downloader treats the first row of the Excel file as the title. It’s convenient to give separate headings to the Image URL and filename columns for easy identification.

Q. Is it mandatory to upload an Excel file when using the image downloader?

No. Even without uploading an Excel file, copy/paste you can download images using the copy/paste method.

Image URLCells can be entered manually on all plans, so it’s easy to use.

On the free plan you cannot directly enter/edit filenames, but you can perform basic download tasks using the 'Original filename', 'Number only' options.

Q. What are the differences between the filename options in the image downloader?

Listly Image Downloader offers various filename options so you can choose the method that suits your task:

  1. Original name (Original name) : Uses the original name extracted from the image URL as-is.

  2. From Excel (From Excel) : Uses data taken from the specified column in the Excel file as the filename.

  3. Number Only (Number Only) : Creates filenames using only sequential numbers in the order of the input URLs.

  4. Number + Original name (Number+Original name) : Creates filenames by adding a number in front of the original name extracted from the image URL.

  5. Number + Excel (Number+Excel) : Creates filenames by adding a number in front of the data taken from Excel.

Q. Fewer image files were downloaded than the URLs I entered. What should I do?

If you entered dozens of image URLs and proceeded to download, but

significantly fewer files were downloaded than the number of URLs entered, duplicate filenames may be the cause.

This situation occurs because the image downloader treats images with the same filenameas a single file. Here are solutions.

1

Use a filename option that includes sequence numbers.

(e.g., Number Only, Number + Original, Number + Excel)

2

Use a column without duplicate valuesas the filename.

Q. I entered a URL but the image did not download. What am I supposed to do?

Check whether the entered URL is not a webpage address. An image URL is different from a webpage address and must be a URL that displays only the image.
